In the IT industry, innovation takes several forms -- technology (hardware, software, business model, process), etc. While I think we have made significant strides on certain areas such as technology software and services, we are barely making inroads in some of the other areas.
Innovation is one of the cornerstones for any company's success and it is extremely important to bring value addition for whatever it is that you are doing. Without innovative methods, products you are more likely to just play in.
